Who doesn't love a rags-to-riches story? Bill Bartmann is a living example of one, going from high school drop-out and gang member at age 14 to millionaire by the time he was 30. Kathy, his wife, helped turn him around. They've been married over 30 years, and through the ups and downs, she has never left his side.
Kathy is the one who convinced Bill Bartmann to get his GED, undergraduate degree, and later his law degree, all with a great deal of effort necessary. Because of his hard work and unwillingness to accept failure, Bill was able to open a law practice helping people who couldn't afford to hire an attorney.
Bill Bartmann's financial roller coaster ride began when he left the law practice after about five years. It was the 1970's, and he made a fortune in real estate (which at the time, was fairly easy to do). He was a millionaire by the time he was 30 years old. He then went into the oil business, but when the price of oil dropped from $40 per barrel to only $14, his fortune disappeared.
After going broke in the oil industry, Bill was hassled by rude, irate bill collectors. This gave him his next big idea which would eventually land him on the Forbes list of the richest people in the world. He started a debt collection company that was polite.
Bill believed in his heart that most people were like him. They really wanted to pay their bills, but they weren't able to do so. He knew that he would be much more likely to send his money to a nice person than to a degrading one, so he figured other people were probably the same way. He knew they would send as much as they could, when they could. His idea worked!
Money never really mattered that much to Bill. He has always been the type to follow his heart, which in some cases brought wealth and some cases brought bankruptcy. He never listened to teachers who told him to get a high-paying job. Money doesn't matter if what you're doing doesn't make you happy. Passion, happiness, and success go hand in hand whether money follows or not.
In all of his ups and downs, two bankruptcies and three times a millionaire, Bill has learned from experiences. Now that he's a billionaire, he uses this knowledge to help others in his Billionaire Mentor Program. His program is completely different than most of the programs out there today because, as always, he respects his audience.
Just as he respected debtors in his collection business, Bill respects entrepreneurs in his business school. He doesn't have pep rallies and rah-rah sessions. He doesn't do all day infomercials. He doesn't give you a lot of fluff you already know. Everything you get is on your level and included in the price of the membership.
