Today's topic is: How to tap the profit power of niche marketing.
Fred Kerr and Ed Dale made niche marketing popular with their course, "Underachiever". With the demise of the course, people thought that niche marketing was also dead. The rumor persists that you can't make a profit with this technique.
Boy, are they wrong! Niche marketing works, and can still offer you a healthy profit. Want proof? My close friend sells over the Internet to obscure markets. Using good marketing principles, he earns about $8000 every month. Even better, his business continues to grow. You can learn these same skills from Internet marketing teachers.
Another friend, Dr. Andrew Jones, started out as my client, then became my student and my friend. He started selling a small $27 e-book online. Now, his business pulls in $15,000 each month. The best news? His business is still growing!
How does this work? Well, I teach that in my coaching program. As of this writing, there are a few spots left. You can check it out at this site, if you're interested: http://www.rayedwards.com/letmein, "5k In 30 Days". If there is any room left, I'd love to have you join us.
I didn't write this article to sell you my coaching program. I want to sell you an idea - that niche marketing works, and can help you cash in. I'm offering you five simple steps to build your niche, quickly and easily. Of course, this is a broad overview of a complex topic, but these simple steps can get you on your way without spending any money or undertaking a long study of marketing. You'll have to put some work into it, but you already knew that, right? Too bad you can't just push a button and have money spit out of your CD-ROM.
Follow these steps, and start your niche market today!
Locate a product. I say "locate", not "create", because a lot of people are intimidated by product creation (even though product creation is the easiest thing in the world to do!). The easiest thing that you can do is locate products by finding private label rights packages that give you the right to re-publish product that has already been created. Now, you may think that these products are not worth your time, because everyone's already seen them, or they don't work, or, or, or The startling truth is that while many people are on private label rights sites, very few actually use those products. So, if you do a good job re-packaging the product, change the title, change the graphics, and you can have a ready-made product in a very short time. I promise you can do this in less than an hour. Just pick one, don't look for the perfect one! Less than an hour!
Set up your sales page and testing software. Most private label rights packages come with a pre-written sales page. Ideally, you don't want to use this forever, but it's a good place to start; then you can test it using Google's Website Optimizer and tweak it to improve your sales.
Link payment pages to Paypal or Clickbank. These sites provide payment services for a small fee. This is a great way to avoid the hassle of setting up credit card payments on your site.
Use Adwords to move traffic to your site. Start an Adwords account with Google. They offer great tutorials, so it's easy to use.
Go back, Jack, and do it again!
One final piece of advice: Don't pick "How to make money online" as your niche market. Not that it isn't a good market - a lot of people make a lot of money in this market, but it is so competitive! Pick a market that's less competitive and your competition will be less sophisticated and probably less hard-working than you are. Just a little bit of advice for you to think about.
