Many scientist claim Free Energy is just a worthless theory and a waste of time.

Yet the proponents of Free Energy believe it is possible and the benefits are vast. The debate rages, does free energy exist or not. And if so would capturing and utilizing the energy be cost effective. Is the energy truly efficient and endless.

The emerging study of Free Energy is already split on it meaning. One sect believes it refers to the actual device needed in collecting the new energy source. While others believe it to be the process of transmitting the energy to earth.

Although none believe this is a perpetual energy machine, its implications are the next best thing. Unlimited energy that is clean and safe.

Yet with ever increasing technological advances, harnessing the energy floating in the atmosphere seems realistic. Often what was impossible only a few years ago becomes possible. The utilization of atomic power in the 40's and the Wright Brother's flight are just two examples.

One definition of Free Energy is it can be found in the Zero Point Field. Basically a quantum mechanical state of matter at its lowest possible state of energy. In this field vast amounts of the energy are available.

As far back as 1913 two scientist, Otto Stern and Albert Einstein discovered this energy and called it residual energy. Even at that time they felt it would be usable as an alternative energy.

In the study of quantum mechanics this energy is also called vacuum energy. The energy can be found in totally empty space. On description is similar to the froth found at the bottom of a waterfall.

Even if it turns out the collection of this energy is impractical, other discoveries along the way may turn out to be of great benefit. For now I will keep paying my electric bill, yet I am excited about the possibilities that may arise from the Free Energy research.
