Going through a divorce or separation is difficult enough. When you must factor in child custody and visitation for your children, it becomes an even stickier situation for everyone involved. Having a good understanding of child custody and visitation laws that are in place can help make this situation a much easier.

It's becoming more understood that having money does not make one a better parent, and a court is more inclined to place a child with a loving parent, than a parent that does not have a strong bond with the child but makes more money than the other parent.

These factors are also taken into consideration where visitation is concerned. The visitation that is granted to the non-custodial parent will also be dependent upon the information the courts uncover about the parent/child relationship. Child custody and visitation laws are a complex issue, that lead to life altering decisions.
