Picture this - you are out having a great time, you meet a GREAT guy who you just click with. The end of the night rolls around, and you exchange phone numbers. And the panic sets in. "Should I call him? WHEN should I call him? How long should I wait for him to call me?"

As a woman you are entitled to certain things. One is the right to change your mind at any given moment. The other is the right to RECEIVE the first call. So let me make that clear. You do NOT make the first call. Men chase - not women.

Take a look around you, at nature. Its always the male who does the work to attract the female. They have the colorful plumage or the trilling call - all to attract the female. Men make the call. In other words, reason number one why you do not make the first call is that you certainly do not want to be seen as aggressive or impatient before a relationship has even begun.

Reason number two to let him be the first to call - one little word - "effort". Have you ever heard the old saying "Why buy the cow if you can have the milk for free?" Well, from a dating perspective, if you are so eager for him that you cannot even wait for him to call you - what does he have to do? Nothing. He knows you want him, and that gives him the advantage.

Now, what else does that do? There is a little thought of side-effect to chasing the man that many women do not even think about. It totally eliminates attraction. Think of dating as a game of cat and mouse. Take the fun out, and who wants to play? He certainly won't.

Third - when you let him call you - you are sending the message that you are IN DEMAND. If this guy wants to date you - if he sees you as valuable and worth pursuing, he is going to believe that other men also see the same thing. So don't call him and tell him HOW available you are!

And when he DOES finally call? DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE. Remember - you are in demand! You are out having fun! Where? He doesn't know. Maybe with another guy. Maybe not. But let his imagination prick his toes for a bit and he will want you more and more. If you can stand it, wait until the next day to call him. If not, at least give it a couple hours.

The fourth reason to wait for the man to call is simple. Security. If, for the first month you are going out, he is always the one calling for the date - you will KNOW that he wants you. You will know that he is interested in YOU and thinking of you. You won't have to wonder if he is just being polite, killing time, or whatever. Security in yourself will breed attraction, as well, and he will see it, and he will like it!

So be the woman, and let him be the man. Let him call you. And if he doesn't call? His loss, honey. He was not showing you his true face then anyway, and you don't want that. So go and let him get you girl!
