Bringing Kampala to the World
Kampala in Uganda in 2007 witnessed the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) take place. However, the single problem that was eating up the people of Kampala was the lack of accommodation. But with State ministers declaration a whole series of Kampala hotels starting from Hilton Hotels, Serena Hotels, Kempinski Hotels, to Sheraton Hotels have agreed to come up and set up exquisite hotels in Kampala to promote the travel and Tourism sector over here.
Tourism being one of the key areas of revenue generation is testimony of the fact that earnings in that industry in the recent times are expected to cross $500 million. An approximate of about 770,000 people flocked Uganda last year. These people included almost all ranges of people, starting from business people, conference attendants, cross border tourist, to even participants at the Commonwealth Summit.
Nevertheless the problem that cropped up along with this is that the rates of these Uganda hotels were sky high if they were to be compared to other hotels anywhere else in the world. This by far was having a very bad effect on the tourism industry of Kampala.
Travel and Tourism sector in Uganda is one of the most promising sectors. However, the provision of cheap accommodation in Uganda is still a matter of concern. Cheap hotels in Kampala still are a distant dream. So if you are looking for Uganda Hotels or Uganda apartments then take heart. Proper search will thro before you myriad option.
In fact the CHOGM played a big part in promoting the country to the world. Moreover, the increased political stability, and the increased awareness about the country have sustainable enhanced the growth in the travel and tourism sector.
Interestingly, whatever growth or development that we see in the tourism sector of Uganda today is all due to the state minister’s announcement that by 2012, six big hotels are to be constructed along the six national parks of Uganda. These Uganda hotels for sure will draw many a tourist.
These include the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Murchison Falls National park, Queen Elizabeth National park, and Lake Mburo National park.
The state minister announced this while he was launching the Pearl of Africa Tree at Akright Kakungul Satellite City on Entebbe Road.
With such kind of large investment, a healthy competition will also be ensured. The service providers will be at their level best, as they will try ways and means to ensure client satisfaction and repeated visits.
However, some hotels in Kampala like Hotel Ruch are the few hotels that ensure a quiet night’s sleep. Hotel Ruch is a no-frills Bed and Breakfast hotel and as the owners confirm that they take pride in declaring that they provide quality accommodation at exceptionally low rates.
The Hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the center of Kampala and has easy access to public transport. The hotel is well furnished by a 24hr security with close-circuit televisions (CCTV) along with guards.
The hotel in Uganda has a free and fast Wireless Internet Access (WI-FI), along with air-conditioned super deluxe rooms with ample parking space and a bar. So next time you plan a drink just drop in at Hotel Ruch where the Bonito offers various kinds of exotic whiskies and various other drinks to lighten your spirit.
In addition to this Hotel Ruch is the only hotel in Uganda who has the unruffled wild life theme park Uzuri Gardens, where one can easily relax with the Kings of the Jungle all around you.
