Even for anyone who may not be especially attracted to large cities, a visit to New York City is bound to be enjoyable and exciting for even those. New York is used in movies all the time to makes the scenes more attractive. It is one of the most talked about and visited cities in our country. It is rich with history and cultural activities and events. The amazing building structures house some of the most prestigious businesses in the entire world.

If you have ever taken a trip to New York City on business or for a vacation, then you are probably well aware that it can also be one of the most expensive places to visit in our country, but that can be said for many other exciting places that we choose to go to as well. The good thing about places as large as New York City is that even if you go there on a limited budget, there are a multitude of fun and interesting things that you and your family can do that are absolutely free.

Music can end up being a part of a vacation almost anywhere you may go. In New York you could not ask for more quality opportunities to hear great music than is available there. Carnegie Hall and Broadway are not the only options available to hear wonderful music. There are usually some free music events going on somewhere and all you need to do to find where and when they are going on is to do a little internet research.

The same can be said for other fun activities. There are television show tapings that you can send in advance for free tickets to. If you wait until you arrive there will definitely be long lines to contend with and you might not be able to get in so sending for them as far ahead of time as possible is a great idea.

There are also free walking tours that you can track down and participate in. These sorts of tours will lead you through some popular streets and give information about architectural sites and the history associated with them. A free walking tour or two can be a great way to see some wonderful sites in a big city without having to subject your self to all the headaches of car traffic.

Then there are beaches, libraries, and museums that you can also visit for free. Just because you do not have a lot of extra money to spend while you are in New York City does not mean that you can not enjoy a great cultural experience while you are there.
