Your dining experience is much more than a simple case of filling your body with nutrition to keep it going. There are many other factors to a meal that must be considered if you want to have an excellent experience in Los Angeles restaurants, or any dining establishment.
First, theres the curb appeal of the restaurant. This is the very first impression that you get when you approach the location. Is there valet parking? Is there enough self parking? What do the guests look like as you pass the front door is it a casual environment or a formal one? And, because its the first exposure youll have to the food, what delicious smells are coming from the front door? Can you identify on the menu posted outside what tasty aroma just hit your nostrils?
Once you enter, theres the matter of atmosphere. Is it dark? Is it friendly and inviting, upscale and formal, cozy or smothering? In Los Angeles restaurants, its illegal to smoke in the dining area, so you wont have to worry about whether the dining room is smoky or not. It wont be. But think about what you want out of a restaurant. Are you looking for a bright and airy brunch, or a dimly lit romantic dinner lit only by a single candle?
Then there are the tables. Some restaurants put tablecloths on and some dont. The addition of a cloth doesnt necessarily mean that the restaurant is fancier some of the ultra modern restaurants in L.A. have brushed aluminum tables and funky silverware arrangements, and theyre extremely upscale. Is the napkin folded into an ornate shape of some kind? Do you want it to be, or do you find that pretentious?
The chairs need to be comfortable for your needs. Some customers will accept nothing less than a booth, and some find them confining. You know best what will work for you. When youre seated, youll receive a menu that may or may not be printed that same day to show you the freshest of flavors available. At the more casual places, the menu might even be sitting right at the table rather than brought to you. Dont be fooled that it means the cuisine is inferior, though maybe theyre all too busy cooking to be handing out menus.
All this influence and all these sensations and you havent even gotten to the food yet.
