Dogs like to live in a group and they have social instincts that can only be expressed by living within a group. For this reason it is known as a pack animal and within the pack there is one leader. When a puppy or dog becomes a member of your family it is joining your pack and it sees you or the person that leads the family as the pack leader. It looks to the leader to guide it and teach the rules of the pack. It also looks for guidance in dealing with situations outside the pack. It will accept these rules and will accept being disciplined if it breaks these rules. In this context, obedience training is the way that the people teach dogs how to behave in the confines of the family and in the wider human community. Because a dog has the instinct to need rules it is keen to learn what you have to teach.

So what do you need to teach to your dog ? Many people approach obedience training in an unfocused way because they don't know enough about it or how to do it. However it is important for your dog and your relationship with it that you set down some rules. Here are the key points that you need to teach your dog.

It should be able to socialize with humans and other animals (principally the family and pets like other dogs and cats) in it's home.

It must be trusting of people and be comfortable being touched by humans.

It must be able to control it's aggressive tendencies.

It must accept restraint. For instance, it should know how to walk on a lead in a calm manner without getting distracted by things around it.

It must respond to your calls, including coming when you call it.

It should poop in an area that is determined by the pack leader.

It should be comfortable being alone from time to time.

By teaching your dog these kind of skills you will help it to fit into the wider community and be a loved and popular member of your family.

The sit stay fetch training course will give you the techniques and skills to teach your dog how to do all these things and more besides. It concentrates on the key skill, as mentioned above but it also has section which teach more advanced obedience training commands.

The sit stay fetch course e-book is the heart of the package. It is a content rich book that aims to teach you the philosophy behind obedience training and how to understand the psychology behind the course. It shows you how to understand what the dog is thinking. It also covers many of the bad behavioral traits that dogs have and explains why they do these things and how to stop them.

The final section of the course is concerned with teaching the obedience commands. This is a very strong part of the book. It uses photographs of an owner and their dog going through the command. There are around 4 to 5 pictures per command showing the process from start to finish. Each photo has text that explains what to do. By following these photos you can learn how to obedience train your dog. All the basic commands are covered and there are some advanced commands too. There are a number of additional books that focus on caring for your dog, like how to groom your dog. Another additional book that I think is really helpful is how to become the pack leader. It teaches you how to act as a pack leader which is fundamental in teaching your dog how to follow your commands.

The course is also comes as an audio version. So if you don't get the time to read the book you can listen to the files instead. They are really helpful when teaching a command to your dog because you can listen to that command until you have it memorized.

The complete package can be downloaded in around thirty minutes so that you can be training your pet in next to no time.
