Shar Peis have fascinating looks and their wrinkled faces and hippo-like appearance is unique in the world of canines. It is an ancient breed that comes from an ancient land and is related to Tibetan Mastiff as well as to the Chow Chow.

The Chinese Shar Pei is a well-mannered breed that moves with balance and strength and which also has a good rear-end drive. The name is symbolic of its coarse and bristled coat that is of three types that are horse, bear and brush coat.
