You Must Be Disciplined

Working from home really does have it's own set of obstacles as opposed to the typical office job. The television is right there. You see the highlights of The Masters being re-broadcast and since you had to clean the yard yesterday and missed most of it, you decide to see what you missed. Important tasks may get pushed aside. This would never happen at the office because there are people watching over you. You must keep that TV out of the office and turned off. Close the door, keep all distractions at bay and get to work. The checks will soon follow.

When working at home, you will be on your own and it can get lonely. Make sure to efficiently control your time and remain disciplined. Your scheduled work hours need to remain productive. One thing Internet Marketers like to do is sign up on people's lists. That's just what we do. We are curious if anybody has discovered something that might be of use to us. Compose a list of only the most relevant lists you wish to be on. Every so often, change your email address and only update those relevant lists and your contact list. Spending hours a day sifting through emails and getting rid of them is not the most productive use of your time.

Personally, I try to keep my subscriptions to a maximum of 5. If something really revolutionary is being released I will find out about it. Hearing about it 20 times will not be of any benefit to you. Your productivity will increase from this little tip alone.

Every day you see another "requirement" for the success of your business. You do not have to buy every one of these that come around. A lot of it is just refurbished information that is making it's third or fourth trip around the block. If it does not possess a TRUE benefit to your productivity just let it go.

Now, if you have done your due diligence and come to find that a certain product will save you some time or money, then by all means give it some consideration. If it really will save some time and money, then the investment will prove to be a wise one.

With regards to the testimonials you encounter along the way, try to verify that these people are end users of the products and not the seller's relatives.

Keep Your Focus

A proper business plan is key to maintaining focus. Make sure to spend an adequate amount of time on the development of a proper business plan. This is not something you want to just glance over. Once the plan is developed, make every effort to stay with that plan.

It will normally take some time for positive results to make themselves known. Make sure you give your well thought out plan a fair amount of time. Becoming bored with the day to day tasks is not a justifiable reason to change your plan.

Becoming bored with the daily tasks is quite common. To help avoid boredom from setting in, try to make sure you change the order in which you perform your daily tasks. We all need change every now and again. Also make sure you keep networking. You never know what ideas might come your way.

Staying concentrated on one well developed plan or strategy will add to your bottom line where jumping from one to the next, and to the next... will more often than not, have just the opposite effect.
