Squeeze pages or reseller pages are the entry point of your website where you focus on just one thing -- to get the name and email address of your visitor. In order to effectively realize this objective, you will have to tweak your squeeze page so that they are performing optimally. Here are a few tips to build powerful squeeze pages that produce results.

Offer an incentive - Give them a reason to opt in. Offer a free gift when they sign up, but make sure the gift is something valuable that they will really want and that they cannot get anywhere else. More the value, higher will be your opt-in rate. Do not just throw away something you downloaded years ago that nobody is interested in. Offer something new and exciting. Special reports work very well.

Follow through on what you say - Make sure that when you say something that you can back it up. If you say you will only send one email per month then only send one email per month. If you do not follow through then you will lose their confidence and likely their subscription to your list. Tell in advance what they will get by subscribing to your list. Also tell them what they are going to lose if they unsubscribe in every email you send. People cannot stand losing anything, even if they do not want that thing.

Be honest - Never lie. It is a simple matter of good business. Just keep things honest. Do not say something that isn't true just to get the subscription. It will come back to haunt you. Dishonest people do go a long way. Their success is temporary and when people realize that they have been duped, they will never come back AND they tell at least a dozen people to stay away.

Avoid being too flashy - Do not try to attract with flashy designs and style. That is actually distracting and takes a lot of time to download into your visitors' browser. You will want to avoid anything that can distract from your core message and goal.

Make your headline grab attention - The headline is one of the most important factors of your page. It needs to be exciting so that a visitor will want to continue reading. In other words, your headline is an ad for the rest of your content. Take time and develop a powerful and hypnotic headline that makes the reader continue to read the rest of your copy and ultimately signup to your opt-in list.

Keep it simple - Do not make your page more complex than it has to be. Be upfront and straight forward. Avoid any extravagance and just keep it neat and easy to read. The content should be written typically to a high-school student. Use short sentences and many paragraphs. Bullet points are very effective in highlighting the most important points and enhances the look and feel of your squeeze page.

Make copy the right length - Do not ramble on if you do not need to. Make sure you make it long enough, though. Include the information you need to and forget the fluff. Ideally squeeze pages are just enough to fit into the first fold of the page. In other words, let the entire squeeze page fit into the visible portion of your page when viewed in a browser, without having to use the scroll button.
