Wine lovers are now taking their game to the next level by starting wine clubs - A place where true wine lovers unite and all they do is drink and discuss.
Even doctors recommend drinking a glass of wine a day because it is actually good for your health. It cuts down on your risks of getting a heart attack. Plus the great thing about wine is it comes in all prices. I can't tell you how many times I've bought wine just because I didn't have enough money for a 6 pack of beer.
Now that wine and especially home wine making is getting very popular, this is the best time to start your own wine club. No you don't have to be an expert, just gather other wine lovers and drink. Most clubs meet up for every 30 days and come up with new wonderful information about wine and wine and making wine at home.
So now that you want to start your own wine club, the first thing is to find someone who truly likes being somewhat of the 'leader'. This person should be someone who is more organized than others, somewhat of a event coordinator kind of person.
At first offer a limited membership - don't have too many members when you begin the club. Too many members will lessen the possibility of developing a close long term relationship with others in the wine club.
Suggestions for monthly wine selections are readily available from wine enthusiast magazines or online articles about new and innovative wines. Choose one person to be in charge of gathering the wines. Later, you can split the bill.
You'll also want to have a great selection of wine glasses on hand. They can be inexpensive, but be sure that you have enough so that each person has his own glass for each type of wine that you've selected.
The best to things to discuss at your first wine club meeting would be just the entire process of making wine. You'll be surprised on how simple and easy it is. Plus new members who have no idea about the wine making process will really appreciate it.
Remember to focus on the educational aspect of the wines. You'll need rating charts that are available at wine shops, on line and through wine magazines. Each of your members will be rating the characteristics of the wines. Then, you can compare them to see if you all agree.
It's a natural process for human beings to gather in groups and discuss subjects of interest. There is so much to learn about wines that your club will never be at a loss about what to discuss and learn. Enjoy!
