219. Working From Home?
Mary, 26, has a problem, pulled between her job and her child, she struggles to leave to work. Her child's cries only make every step to the door more painful. \"This is horrible, I really wish I could just work from home.\" This situation may sound familiar to you, and you may be also wondering if there are options. Everyday we are flooded with hundreds of online ads, many that claim we can earn thousands right from our home computer! Sounds great, right? The only problem is strangers are asking for $150 start up, or asking for you to first spend 30 hours taking surveys. Investing that kind of time and money is very risky when scams are floating around every corner of the Internet. And even if you find some survey spots that pay, think about all of your living expenses, and your child's living expenses, is that really going to cut it? That leaves you with more familiar routes for work-at-home schemes. If you have experience with sales and you know enough people with money, that client list can mean success. Many people dream of making money selling products they get online, but it's important to have buyers, otherwise everything will sit in storage. With enough buyers, you could successfully sell cosmetics, candles, home goods, children's toys, rubber stamping products, marital aids, and all sorts of cooking gadgets. You could find a product to fit any type of area you may be in. So how much money does selling one of these products actually pay? Like anything it depends on how dedicated you want to be too it. A little online research and an unscientific poll tell me that you could make anything from $30-$200 a show. If you can swing two shows a month youare looking at $60 - $400 a month. OK so maybe that will take care of a dinner or two out a month. If you are really good, you will have enough to pay for a family vacation or Christmas gifts. Realistically, you will amakea more money by cutting back on expenses associated with work. Drop down to one family car instead of two and youave earned $300 - $500 a month! Shaving off those dinners out because you donat have time to cook could earn you another couple hundred dollars a month. Not to mention your work clothes, lunches out, oh and that enormous child care bill! Grab a calculator and take a seat with your loved one. You could \"earn\" just as much money staying at home! How? By simply cutting out all your unnecessary expenses! It wouldn't take much to reach that dream of staying home, but you have to be prepared to make some changes in your life. And here's some food for thought, having one income might have you in a lower tax bracket, and that can mean more benefits! At the end of the day, it's your call, is it worth it to leave your child to the hands of others all day? Children grow up very fast, and it's up to you to decide what's best for them, and best for you. Believe it or not, making the appropriate sacrifices can make your dream come true!
