The Toyota Land Cruiser is the ultimate dream machine for men who have an almost sensual attachment to their cars. Toyota Land cruiser is the product of the Toyota Motor Corporation and its nomenclature has an interesting history to it. The name “Land Cruiser” was the brainchild of the director of the technical team, Hanji Umahara that originally designed the first prototype of the Toyota. The team wanted to give such a name to the car that would sound analogous to the Land Rover of Britain. Having a distinctive name would help the product to gain mindshare and it worked for Toyota.

Toyota’s Land cruiser came into prominence as it sturdiness proved quite useful while negotiating tough terrains and climates. Soon the word spread and the land cruiser became the preferred vehicle for connoisseurs all over the world. Car Aficionados had the opportunity to have a glimpse of the latest edition of the Toyota Land Cruiser 2008 version held at the Australian Motor show held in Sydney last October. Both petrol and diesel versions of the Land cruiser were on display at the motor show.

The USP of the 2008 version of the Toyota Land Cruiser was its engine. It was the first time that Toyota had introduced a car with a Turbo- diesel V8 engine. This high-powered 4.5-liter engine produces more than 150Kw of Power and 400Nm of torque while complying with the Euro IV emissions standard. The new Land cruiser has a multi –terrain anti skid braking system allowing for greater maneuverability on dirt roads, gravel and marshy surfaces.

The Toyota Land cruiser 2008 Version flaunts the world’s first “crawl control technology” for driving on surfaces like rocks and steep hills. This unique technology automatically controls the engine and brakes thereby avoiding spinning or locking of wheels when the car is moving at very low speed. This technology also enables users to make speed adjustments even while driving between the speeds of 1 to 5 KM/hr thereby avoiding the possibility of the vehicle getting stuck midway. The all new Toyota Land cruiser 2008 Edition has all the features you can expect in a high end machine like Remote Keyless Entry, Smart Start ,satellite navigation, steering wheel controls,. Safety features incorporated in the Land Cruiser include 10 airbags at strategic locations for the safety of the passengers
