Everywhere you look there are advertisements. All of them are boasting about people making 100's of dollars by using Adwords to sell products. Added to this is the fact that they are only spending 2-3 hours per day. These ads want to persuade you that this is the norm and you too can easily make 100's per day by "just flipping on the switch of your computer.
The reality of the situation is that this is simply not true and a gross exaggeration of the facts. This is especially so for new business owners. There are myriads of things to take care of and it certainly cannot be crammed into 2-3 hours per day. If you face the truth it is a fact that an Adword campaign will actually be harder to manage than other promotions.
Consider this. Initially you will find popular keywords when you use Google's databse of keywords. By using the keywords that you might use for searching for your product you will get together a second list of keywords. lastly you will compare these keywords to Google's.
After you have assembled all the keywords, you then have to decide how much to bid on each one of them. Of course you will not be emailing Google with your bid, you will be considering paying for good positions. The higher the bid the better position you ad will be in. Google actually places ads according to the highest bidder. These favorable positions will draw the most traffic. This allows Google and the advertiser to earn more.
Adwords works on a pay per click system. Every time a reader clicks your ad you will be charged a nominal fee. You will do this regardless of whether a sale is completed. The better the click through rate the more money Google makes. The highest bidder will attain the best position for an ad.
It is important to keep a close eye on your campaign, once you have completed the bidding and the ad is active. You will need to be aware of minute details, especially keyword popularity. Keyword popularity can fluctuate and unpopular keywords will not bring in the money.
You may not become a millionaire by working on your Google Adwords campaign for just few hours per day. However you will become an expert at multi tasking and micromanaging your campaign. As you learn more you will very likely find that Adwords will indeed bring in profits for your business.
With Google Adwords' tools and tutorials you will become a master of detailed management very quickly. This will enable you to spend less time managing your campaigns and more time finding ways to profit with your business.
